Three Word Sunday

October already??? Where is the year going??? We are getting into a nice routine during the day here with all the rugrats but when everyone comes home from school and all homework is done then there is 8 rugrats (7,6,5,5,3,3,3 & almost 2) running amuck. Now every after noon I can be heard saying over & over again...SLOW DOWN, EASY, SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT, STOP CHASING EACH OTHER, ITS ALL FUN AND GAMES TILL SOMEONE GETS HURT!! Wednesday was no different till the screams and crys from my niece Fianna and Little Tommy. They collided heads, he got an egg on his head the size of a half dollar and she got a shiner!

On Friday night Andrew & I went to go see the NY METS play one of their last home games for the 2009 season,. The tickets were given to us by a friend of mine. The weather called for rain but it was a cool crisp fall night. The seats were splendid ( right behind home plate) the new Stadium was awesome & they won. I got some photos but my battery died at the end of the first inning. Other then that it was.............

Three Word Sunday

Rachael had her 1st Varsity game on Monday. I made it to the game at half time (I had work till 4pm & the game was 20 minutes from where we live.)When I walked to the sidelines where all the parents were standing I found out the we (the T-Birds) were winning 1-0. As the second half played on many shots where shot on goal but Amanda (Rach's BFF) in her time in the goal reflected all the plays from entering the net. The whole team played very well and won their game with a score of 1-0. As I walked across the field to Rachael , she came towards me with a big smile on her face, I hugged her and asked who scored the only goal............ She said it was me Dee!!!!! OMG I felt bad enough that I missed seeing her play but to miss her scoring a goal made me cry. I missed her second game cause of work but there is another game tomorrow I am going to make sure I'm there for. So my Three words for this Sunday are...........

Also a big congratulation to another of my rugrats Connor. He spent the week trying out for the middle school football team and on Friday found out that he made it! Way to go Goober,so very proud of you and can't wait to stand on the sidelines of your games to cheer you on.

Three Word Sunday
Its funny how on one hand time seems to be flying by. School is back in session for most of the rugrats, fall is in the air,the skies are getting darker earlier and holidays are knocking on our door(Halloween & thanksgiving decorations are out in the stores) But on the other hand (our adoption) time is at a standstill.
Thursday would of been my moms 73rd birthday.I had a quiet day for work(put 1 rugrat on the bus for 9am then take one off @ 2:40& the other @ 3:45) so for most of the day I was home alone and found myself wandering around my moms apt downstairs. A lot of her stuff is gone now but her furniture, books & some picture are still down there. I was dreading the day, My sister Jamie came over with her crew and after I got done with work @ 5:15 we ran to the cemetery to put a balloon on mom's grave. As we were pulling in I had a knot in the pit of my stomach, the seven months since she has passed have gone by in a blink. Having Jamie's kids with us helped when they asked...Where's Granny? Jamie touched the gravestone and said here.... next one asked.....OK but where is her box ?(while we were in the church for her burial Seamus(who was 3 at the time) said to Jamie during a lull in the mass GRANNY IN THE BOX...those of us who heard it chucked over this comment and then finally "where are all the flowers we left her? Simple questions from a child's mind and it reminded me that I wasn't the only one hurting over this and missing her. So my first three words are..........

My second three words needs no background as to why..... Everyone remembers where they were, what they were doing, and how they felt during the days, weeks and months after that date. So Try to take a moment out of your day and let those in your life know what they mean to you

OH WHAT A NIGHT................
I'm a little late this week with my three word Sunday. I knew what photo and what words I was going to use after I got a phone call from my rugrat Rachael but before I got a chance to put my post together, Andrew & I took a quick trip Upstate.
OK it was suppose to be quick...three hours up, pick up his truck(that has been getting worked on for the last 3 weeks and was finally done) and three more hours down. The trip up to Catskill was quick, no real traffic to speak of, pulled into the car place and our truck was sitting right there waiting for us. From there we headed to his parents house (just down the road a bit) to drop off the car we had borrowed from them. No one was home (they are on vacation) we left the car, grabbed a soda, and started back home for the island........ we got about half way home and Andrew decided to pull off at a rest area for a minute. When he stopped the car his oil indicator came on, as he opened the door there was a strong smell of gas(diesel). .......
Years ago I decided get a membership in AAA. My husband the mechanic didn't think it was necessary . Well last night it came in handy....... We called AAA to tell them our problem. They say since there is gas we had to call 911 before they would send anyone out. So we called and the state troopers and the fire department was called. When they arrived and deemed the situation safe (it had better of been I was sitting in the car the whole time) AAA was called again and a tow truck was dispatched to us and he drove us back to my in laws house, One hundred and one point four miles away. The charge is $4.50 per mile. So if Wifey didn't have AAA we would of had to pay over Four hundred and fifty dollars but since I always believed it was a security to have our 1st 100 miles were FREE!!!!! We finally made it home about an hour ago. On Tuesday morning Andrew will be on the phone with the service department that "fixed" our car in the first place. In the long run I am "SO THANKFUL FOR" AAA and hubby's thankful for a smart wifey.
Rachael tried out for Field Hockey this week. Last Sunday night when I saw her she was a nervous wreck for what is called HELL WEEK (Two practices a day) on Monday after her 1st practice I called to see how she was (still nervous and she threw up) that night she was a little less nervous and very sore, same on Tuesday and then on Wednesday morning I got text from her stating "I MADE VARSITY"!!!!!!!!
Stinkerbell I am so proud of you. You can do anything you set your mind to. I love you.

Three word Sunday

The other night I took a fall. I was in the kitchen on my bare feet one minute and on my arse the next. How it happened is still a mystery, something on the floor & I slipped, got dizzy and lost my balance? All I know is both of my arms are bruise beyond belief & I took another 10years off of Stew-Be's life. He swears I am slowly trying to kill him,LOL, this being the 2nd time in our marriage that I gave him such a fright(1st time was in June & then phone call that I was being taken to the ER). This is another case of it looks worst then it feels.

Also on a Happier?Better? note We marked another month off of our wait and are Another Step Closer to our dreams.

THREE WORD SUNDAY
Full week of work this week and the weather has been hot hot hot. We have a small blow up pool that the kids & Uncle Andrew love. This week besides the regular cast of charterers(Sarola, Fianna, Seamus, Tommy & Kenzie) that I watch during the day we had two extra rug rats (Taylor & Sammie) hanging with us & their grandma (My friend for the last 32years). So after a few hours in the pool, everyone got out, Kenzie went for a nap and the other 6 sun bathed. So my Three words for this Sunday are.....LAZY SUMMER DAYS.

When Andrew got home from work, he put on his shorts and hung out in the pool for about 90 minutes to cool off from the hot day.

THREE WORD SUNDAY

I luv three word Sundays and I missed them since they stopped. They started back up again last week and of Course I forgot to post my three words( my memory is shot, I am blaming it on the Carb*n M*noxide Pois*ning but Stew-be says its just old age).I would of forgotten again but while on FB this morning I saw a reminder about T.W.S and quickly threw this together
I luv this picture of Andrew. It was taken a few months back @ a party. This man, the one I call my husband, my best friend, my Stew-Be . I tease him about his Lack of maturity and his easy going good nature heart but when things are heading south he is the one I want in my corner, having my back, holding my hand and just loving me. Thru the death of both of my parent, the renovation of our house, this roller coaster of a ride called international adoption, cleaning out my mom's apt and the day to day stuff he is always a rock for me. So my three works this Sunday are....
ALWAYS MY HERO

Three word Sunday
It seemed like a never ending road but finally it has ended,
after 25 days and night of her being in a hospital & nursing/ rehab , Granny Annie came home to me on Thursday afternoon. She was welcomed home by Kerri Ann & Carleigh, Jamie, Mike, Saorla, Fianna & Seamus but the one (who I think) was happiest to see her was Misty. Mist wouldn't leave her side all afternoon and when I got home from working after midnight, she was curled up on the bed with my mom.Now maybe thing can get back to normal......(I some how doubt that) So my three words for this week are........

Three Word Sunday.........

I sometimes find myself longing for the simpler times in my life. Not that I would ever want to go back to being a teenager, ( I see what the kids go thru with peer pressure It was ruff in the 70's (yea I'm dating myself) but I think its rougher now) but to a time when everything was easier, simpler, straight forward. When people (family, friends) got along. When I didn't have to make decision for my mother and feel guilty about it. When I believed that this adoption would be complete in 12-18 months not 4 or 5 years. So with these thoughts running thru my head, my three words for this week are...............

Friday must have been one of the longest days in my life. My Best Friend was going in for surgery, I took the day off to sit with her husband but being the freak that she is, she wanted me to stay with the munchkins (McKay, Rach & Connor) instead of "jinxing" her. Every time She has had to go into the hospital it was always me who had the kids and her husband took her by himself. So Friday after they got done with their finals I took they out to breakfast while Enda was at the hospital waiting for Siobhan to come out of surgery. Thank god for text! We were able to keep in contact knowing what was going on and when she got out. (she is fine and will make a full recovery) So my three words for the thorn in my side that I call my best friend is...

GET WELL SOON.

Where does the time go?

OK I admit it, I am not handling this month all that well.I'm not a basket case (yet) but its close. I have been going thru photos of the kids, and I can't believe where the time has gone. I didn't give birth her,but I couldn't love her more. For over 17 years she has been "mine" (OK her parents share her with me)from first tooth, to first step,First word, to first illness( Mckay was a healthy child and didn't get her first "illness(high fever, Throwing -up) till she was three and her mom was in the hospital having Rach and I had the "pleasure" of taking her to the Dr's).There has been birthday celebrations from Chuck E Cheese to sleep overs. Family dinners & family vacations. Soccer games, Track & Gymnastic meets, Field hockey games and school concerts. Quiet talks, Major Fights, a few tears, some whispered secrets, a lot of laughs and good time. But 17 years? It feels like only a moment. Kenny Chesney has a song."Don't Blink" and some of the words are:
"Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your better half
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink
"Best start putting first things first."
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth"

As I have stated before, I treasure every moment with my munchkins, from the oldest to the youngest and everyone in between but I thank god for putting this child into my life. The joy she has brought, the incite to parenting she has supplied and the pride we feel in the young woman who stands before us is unmeasurable.

From This............

Three Word Sunday
Another crazy week here at Camp Chaos. I can't believe that it is June already, another school year is winding down, summer is in the air! The BBQ last Sunday for Andrew's B-day (pics to follow)was great fun for all. Friday Night was Michaela prom so I took the afternoon off to make sure I was there to take pictures and see her off( I am having a hard time believe my oldest munchkin is graduating in a few week going off to college and Rach will be in High school).

My nephew Seamus is so in luv with the youngest munchkin of my gang. Little Miss Kenzie lites up when he talks to her and he will come in from playing if she is crying to see how she is and make sure she is OK. This ruff and tumble little boy is as gentle as anything when it comes to her. So My three words for this Sunday are
A Blooming Romance?????
We're away for the weekend again. Looking forward to peace, quiet and more reading.

Three Word Sunday

Finally here on Long Island Summer is in the air. Temps have been in the 70's & sunny. As soon as the kids get here in the morning(Circan 9 & Tommy 9:30) they ask if the can go out since its "a sunny day" and out they go. Fianna & Seamus get here bout noon and straight out they go until their parents get home. They go home tired & a little dirty (ok a they are filthy) but they have so much fun. They like "hanging out" in the little house.

Three Word Sunday

I'm posting my three words early this week cause we are heading Upstate this evening for Andrew's Birthday & 4 days of peace & quiet. The only thing planned for the weekend is an Irish Festival on Sunday other then that I am going to be lazy & just read. We had a ruff week here @ Camp Chaos, little Miss Kenzie is teething. In general she is one of the most happy go lucky babies I have ever had but this week has been ruff on her, running nose, congestion, wanting to be held, not wanting to be held, my heart broke for her.So my three words for this week are: TEETHING"S NO FUN
