A Night with the Nuns
Last Monday night, Saorla & Fianna had their monthly Jr AOH girls meeting & I got to tag along. The March Meeting was held at a all girls Catholic school that has a convent attached. The Jr girls visit the nuns every year bringing Irish soda bread & cakes. The Pipe band comes to play a set and a few of the girls do their Irish step dancing. The girls have been learning how to say the rosary and said the prayers for the nuns. Besides my nieces, two of the munchkin that I still watch from time to time were there doing the Irish Step dancing. Fiona is 7 & Roisin is 10. Even my nephew Seamus was enjoying the evening and watching the nuns saying their prayers.
Tomorrow I am off to Manhattan to march in the 248th St Patricks Day parade. The Parade marched for the first time on March 17, 1762 - fourteen Years before the Declaration of Independence was adopted and today it is the largest Parade in the World.I was suppose to march in my local parade but couldn't. I am really looking forward to marching tomorrow.
Belong are some of the photos from the visit with the nuns.
