Guess what I'm doing?

FCC-LI 5K Walk-A-Thon
Make Every Step Count!
We were all stunned and deeply saddened by the widespread devastation and destruction that fell upon so many when the earthquake hit Sichuan Province. Our hearts broke for the families who lost children and the children who lost their family. Today, the estimated 5 million affected work to rebuild their lives. Our FCC families responded immediately and generously. We will not forget those, on the other side of the world, who continue to struggle to build a new life.
Throughout China, many orphanages struggle in doing their best to meet the needs of the children in their charge. Children’s needs run the gamut from blankets to keep them warm in winter to funds to provide for surgeries that significantly improve (and in some cases, save) their lives. We have all looked at our children and wondered …. "what if…".
Here at home, we all remember the promise we made to the Orphanage Directors and Adoption officials – that we would do our best to raise happy and healthy children who are proud of their heritage. FCC-LI works hard to provide our families the support, encouragement, and information they may need. We have created a community that will be there as our children grow – a family of families that look just like their family.
Let us all walk together to raise funds for China’s children – those still in China and those we have brought home. The money raised by walking will be donated to the on-going support of those affected by the earthquake, organizations that support the health and well being of children in China’s orphanages, and to support FCC-LI events and programs that foster a sense of pride in our children’s heritage.

Our local FCC (Families with Children from China) is holding its annual Autumn Moon Festival on September 27th and along with the picnic this year they are doing a Walk a Thon.
After reading the email asking for support , Andrew & I decided to raise money and will walk. If you would like to donate to our efforts let me know in an email. Any amount would be greatly appreciated and go towards a good cause. Thank you in advance.

After we walk I will post pictures of what I am sure will be a great day.

As Always Be Good & Be Safe
