Three word Sunday

I'm a little late with my three words this week, we just got home from a visit Upstate to Andrew's parents. Boy did I need a couple of days away. All last week the weather was pretty OK for the kids to be outside at some point of the day to run amuck but on Friday, the weather was kinda borderline (one minute sun the next looking like it was going to pour, so I decided to keep them in) Fianna wasn't feeling well so she was laying on my bed, Kenzie was in the crib, that left the three boys (Circan, Seamus will both be 3 in two weeks & Tommy 2 & Half) in the living room playing(or destroying, how ever you want to look at it) They decided to empty the toy box (nothing more then a big Rubbermaid crate) and use it as a pool, then a ship, then a race car.OK so no problem yet other then a living room that looked like a bomb went off in it, so I go up stairs to pack some clothes for the weekend and check on the girls. I'm up there no more then a few minutes when I hear a little voice calling HELP DEE DEE HELP! I come flying out of my room to the top of the stairs to see the toy box turned upside down and Tommy & Circan sitting on top of it & Seamus's voice coming from under it still calling for help. Now I was torn at this point, a part of me wanted to grab my camera and take pictures so I could blog about it & the Aunt part of me could only think about the nightmares Seamus would have and the therapist he would need in the future. After I got The boys off the box and put into a corner & settled down Seamus. my day went down hill from there.
So My Three Words for this Sunday are:

A child's imagination

OK so I'm not this old but I can relate. When McKay first got her license I told her that when I first started to drive many moons ago I use to put a $10. Bill into the visor in case I ever ran short for gas money. Now my first car was a 1971 or 72Mercury Marquis and it was a tank (Dad figured I would be safe in it) but that $10.00 almost filled the tank(3/4)Then when I got married in the late 80's I use to put a twenty into the visor same concept and again it worked in a crunch to get me at least three quarters of a tank in the 87 GN. Now a days its not so easy. The other night Andrew and I went to go fill up the mini van, my tank was between E & 1/4. I gave Andrew a Fifty and said fill it up, a few minutes later he came back and said six more dollars. Are you kidding me? This is nuts. Regular gas by us it $3.34 a gal and Diesel (which Andrew uses for his 2003 GMC Sierra) is @ $4.29 a gallon.Gone are the days of saving accounts, putting something away for a rainy day and having a few extra bucks. I keep asking Andrew what we are doing wrong........Any ideas??????

Three Word Sunday & Easter Wishes

This past week, I (due to a miscommunication between my sister & I) didn't pick up my niece Saorla from her bus stop and at 4 pm I received a phone call from my brother in law Mike telling me the school had just called him and Saorla was brought back to the school. I grabbed Fianna & Seamus and threw them into their car seats and flew to the school. When I finally got to Saorla she looked and me and said "YOU FORGOT ME" !!! So my three words for this week are:
Worst Aunt Ever

FINALLY SPRINGTIME

Myspace Comments

While the months are flying, the winter has been never ending ( or so it seems). I for one am glad that Spring is here (although you would never know it by the weather we have been having) I want to open all my windows, let the sunshine and fresh air in.

Happy St Patricks Day one and all.

-

Seven years ago today my family and I were in Ireland to witness the marriage of my sister Jamie. In true Irish fashion it rained on her day (all the other days were beautiful) but the weather didn't dampen the spirits of the guest who had "crossed the pond". Jamie made a beautiful bride and Mike a handsome groom.Happy 7th Anniversary guys!

Three word Sunday

The kids got a taste of freedom this week at "Aunt Deedee's"house by being allowed outside for a bit. The temps were in the high 40's mostly & windy but they didn't mind. They loved to be outside running a muck, getting dirty and making more noise they the neighborhood has heard in awhile. On Friday Mother Nature didn't want to corporate with us, it was cloudy, cold and very very windy. Of course I had 4 pissed off munchkins. Thank god there was a new Dora the Explorer on @ noon to appease them for abit. So my Three word for the day are:Where is Spring???

One of my favorite blogs to follow started something a few weeks back called 3 word Sunday. The concept is simple: Sum up your week in three little words.
“You can sing it, you can say it, you can write it, you can draw it. It can be funny or sad or poignant as long as it’s honest.”
The first week I forgot about it, last week I was away and I probably would of forgotten this week but went shopping this morning and brought my corn beef and cabbage for St Patrick's Day , of course as I was picking it out my first thought when to my dad and my heart ached a bit. Then this afternoon as I was making Irish Soda bread I had tears in my eyes thinking about him and how much I still miss him.So my three words for this week are: Still Missing Him

Also, A very Happy 12 Birthday wish goes our to our Godchild and niece Andrea. Peanut, we love you and miss you (even though we saw you just last week)I can't believe you are about to become a teenager. We are proud of you ( you ROCKED last week in your basketball game) Uncle Andrew & I are sorry we aren't there in Maryland with you today but we will see you.

Don't Forget

Its that time of year again to change our clocks and lose a hour of sleep tonight. I also had Stew-Be change the batteries in our smoke detectors. I like this time of year, the evenings are brighter longer, the munchkins can play outside and not be cooped up in the house all day and the smell of spring is in the air. I am so looking forward to spring this year.
