Wow I can't believe that a month has passed!

Andrew and I were camping this past weekend and as we were sitting around on Saturday night and talking I realized what the day was and said to Stew-Be
Happy Anniversary One down and who know how many more to go.
That went quick, now I hope the rest of the time flies by( I know it won't by a gal can hope!)
On the camping front it was a good relaxing weekend. We left on Thursday night and drove to hubby's parents and spent the night.Hooked up our trailer and left on Friday AM. Our friends Steve & Denise were already at the camp ground. After setting up we went food shopping (I usually bring everything from home, but didn't this time)and then relaxed for the night. Saturday was a great day cause I did NOTHING!!!!The Boys went fishing, played horseshoes and hiked thru the woods.Denise and I sat and chatted then I read a book and got some sun while Denise made some jewelry. On Sunday we heading South(about 40 minutes) to my in laws. Of course no camping trip is complete with out Sauce on Sunday.Dinner was great and a birthday cake was had for Andrew.Sunday evening was a washout with the weather. When we got back to the campground it started to rain. Now I love a good rainstorm.Thunder, lighting & rain but even I got nervous, two little shih tzu in a trailer with loud sounds all around, mud everywhere & a lake that is getting closer to the trailer by the hour. All in all it was a good birthday for Andrew and a good weekend.

Of the many nick names that I have for my husband, Stew-be is my favorite! He got the name a few years back after he did something that was sooooo stupid I started to call him Stupid Boy! Not nice I know but it oh so fit!!!!! His Parents had a fit any time they heard me utter those words so Stupid Boy went to Stew-BE!
Andrew is celebtrating his 15th birthday on Saturday (ok ,it is the 30th anniversary of his 15th birthday)The man refuses to grow up!

When I meet people for the first time and they ask "Do you have any kids?" My reply is always "just the one I married" !

HELLO MY NAME IS DONNA & I'M A BLOGAHOLIC!!!!!!!

This statement keeps running thru mymind.Blogging can be addictive and reading blogs is worst! I try to stay away, really I do, but then my curiosity gets the better of me! I started to readjust a few blogs last April about people like us going thru this journey called international adoption. It started with FCC-LI (family with children from China- Long Island) then an Adoption Forum group I had joined both filled with helpful people who have been there and done that. Chatting with these different people I learned about blogs and started to read them. You start by reading one blog, then you find another that they refer to, so you click on that and go to the next one, and so on and so forth. Before you know it, you have spent a few hours on here. The interesting part is all these blogs are from people of different walks of life, in different stages of the adoption process all across the United States and abroad. A few of my favorites are 1st time mom
Mary Mia who has been home for a little more then 6 months with twins (too cute). Lisa just came home in February with LilyRose. I have had the pleasure of talking with Lisa on the phone and thru emails, she has been a vat of information for me. Kimberly Just brought home a son from China, I found this blog thru one of my groups and was blown away by her journey.Melissa who is waiting on her daughter from China,it was the pictures of her pug Jeter that made me start reading her journey(We miss our pug Milo). Then there was Johnny who just returned with his second child from China. His blog has gone password protected for the privacy of his family but this guy had a greatway of getting a point across with out sounding like a know it all. I got a lot of great information from his writing.
These are just 5 that I read ( there are many many more) but as you can see you start with one and it just takes off. Most of the blogs I read I try to leave a comment on. "A Hey, Great Blog, too funny, or my 2 cents".
So if your stopping by, whether, family, friend or stranger, either leave a message or sign my guest book.Chances are that if you have a blog I have seen it, read it and are following along with your journey.

What I have to look forward to
The parents of 3 of "my Munchkins" went away last week to the Keys for a little R & R and I got the kids and all that went with them! This included S.A.T Prep for Micheala, a spring concert for Rachael, a baseball game for Conner (which he hit the game winning GRAND SLAM beating the team that has the best record in their league) A first date for Conner (movie-Spider man 3, dinner-Friendlys)Yes, he will only be 11 in June but it was sweet and innocent and I am glad that we were able to be there for it. The big thing for the weekend was on Friday night Micheala had her Junior Prom, a cruise around Manhattan! Of course there was drama before hand. Her hair wasn't right, the dress didn't look right and the bow wouldn't sit right but once she got to her friends all was right with the world. When she got home (at 5:50am) she climbed into bed with me, and told me all about it, the dancing, the fun, the sights (she had called a few times during the night to touch base with me which is why she got in so late(or early how ever you want to look at it) I knew where she was and who she was with).A great time was had and it is a memory she will carry with her thru her whole life. The 1st picture is of Micheala and Rachael before we dropped her off( of course Rachie kept saying "I can't wait for my Jr Prom"! All I kept thinking is I can wait, Proms are proof that they are growing up(to fast for me) The other pic is McKay and a few of her friends.

Mother's Day is one of those holidays I sometimes dread because in the eyes of society I am not a Mother and people don't know whether to say Happy Mother's day to you or not. I am not talking strangers, I am talking of people who know me, know what I have been thru, going thru and where I am heading. If you look up the meaning of mother you would find:
1)A woman who conceives, gives birth to, or raises and nurtures a child.
2)A woman who holds a position of authority or responsibility similar to that of a mother.
Now I haven't given birth to any children( and I wonder what kind of mother I will be) but I have nurtured many, many children and it is because of these children that have paraded thru my life I feel like a MOTHER. I have changed more diapers and wiped more runny noses then most. I have stood on the sideline in the cold during a child's game and sat up during the night when a child has been sick and the mother was at work. I have cooked, fed, bathed, did homework with, played candyland and read books.I have shopped for school supplies & Halloween costumes, sewn buttons on a shirt and carpooled to or from a dance. I have dried many tears and given tons of hugs & kisses.I have listened to dream, and talked about fears. I protect, care, worry and love everyone of the children in my life.Even with all this I am not a MOTHER because the one thing that is missing is the little voice calling me Mommy.
With all this said, it was a Great Mother's day! I received beautiful flowers from my husband, from 3 of my munchkins I got, a really nice card that made me want to cry( they wrote how much they love me) a hanging basket, 2 resin rocks for my garden that say "welcome" & "Friends" with ladybugs on them and my name (DEE) in wood made by Rachie along with a beautiful homemade card and a phone call from my godchild Ariel.

WHAT A DAY

Its one of those days when you just want to pull the covers over your head and go back to sleep. It started last Friday, I felt it coming on, the aches, the pressure, the throb in my head. It seems that every time we go away to Maryland I get sick. I swear Diana its not you or the state! LOL. We went to Maryland this past weekend for our nephew Michael's confirmation.I spent most of the weekend sleeping, but did make it to the church for the services. Let me tell you driving 6 hours with a headache and sinus pressure is not fun. I went to the Dr's today for her to tell me what I already knew..........Sinus infection! If you suffer from these, you know what I am talking about. I use to get Migraines...now those are wicked but these Sinus infections are the worst. The only thing my sinus infections are good for is I stop eating for a few day,(to nausea) and I walk allot(when I am in pain I walk non-stop, back and forth, around the block I just need to keep moving) . Hopefully this will be my only one for awhile and I pray that my child never goes thru this kind of pain.
